Choice Botanic Drug's Stillingia Root Antique Metal Tin
Choice Botanic Drug's Stillingia Root Antique Metal Tin
$48.00
This authentic antique metal lithographed tin for Choice Botanic Drug's Stillingia Root (produced by the famous Parke, Davis & Co.) is an outstanding, highly collectible specimen of late 19th to early 20th-century herbal apothecary history. Featuring a wonderful, ornate green and red graphic design with highly detailed typography, this upright tin represents the classic era of botanical medicine packaging before modern regulations took hold. Stillingia Root—historically known as "Queen's Delight" and traditionally used in the 19th century as a blood purifier and remedy for respiratory and skin ailments—was a staple of the turn-of-the-century home medicine cabinet, and this surviving tin showcases incredible vintage character. Measuring 9" tall, 5" long, and 5.5" wide, it remains in excellent antique display condition, boasting rich graphics, crisp lettering, and a genuine aged patina with only minor, age-appropriate surface wear, light paper residue/loss on the red product label, and minor oxidation that perfectly highlights its century-old heritage.
