A wonderful piece of turn-of-the-century medical history! This authentic vintage Dr. Edwards’ Tonic (formerly known as Dr. Edwards’ Olive Tablets) ceramic sample container features its original printed paper label and vintage cork stopper.
Formulated originally by Dr. F. M. Edwards in the late 19th/early 20th century as a famous laxative substitute for calomel, Dr. Edwards’ Olive Tablets were a staple in American medicine cabinets. This small cylindrical container retains a substantial portion of its original yellow, red, and black paper label with distinct vintage typography detailing product claims and directions.
