Dr. Whetzel's Asthma Quick Relief

This authentic antique lithographed metal tin for Dr. Whetzel's Quick Relief for Asthma is a premier, highly displayable artifact of early 20th-century patent medicine history.

Featuring a bold mustard-yellow and black color scheme, the front of this pocket-sized tin showcases the iconic portrait logo of its creator, Dr. Frank Whetzel of Chicago, Illinois. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, this preparation—which primarily consisted of powdered stramonium leaves and lobelia herb meant to be burned and inhaled—was a widely distributed "rescue" remedy of the pre-regulation era.

Measuring 3.5" tall, 3" long, and 1" wide, it remains in excellent antique display condition, showing wonderful legibility, rich colors, and a genuine aged patina with minor, age-appropriate surface wear and light oxidation.
